Pile of Pajamas
With Valentine's Day just around the corner we have been busy delivering sleepwear. No, not the wink, wink, nudge nudge, say no more kind we typically associate with the love holiday on February 14th.
Instead warm, cosy and cute pajamas to kids in crisis living in the various agencies we support. We are sending them a hug in the form a new PJ's because let's face it, you just can't have a bad day in a new pair of Pajamas.
We just returned from The Calgary Children's Cottage Society which is a 10 bed crisis nursery that provides care for children and a respite program for parents who are experiencing difficulty and have no other means of support. Children stay a maximum of three days and they serve almost 1200 children each year.
They were thrilled to receive the PJ's and we were awestruck after the tour of the home and humbled by the comitted work of the Child and Family Support workers who are making such a difference.

Dear Helene, Lisa and Friends,
Imagine if you will a single young mother frantic in the middle of the night, she has become seriously ill and needs to go to the hospital immediately. She has no means of support in the city, no one to turn to, and no one to take care of her three children. That's when she call the Children's Cottage for help.
In times of crisis, just like this, we are there for parents when they have nowhere else to turn. When children visit our Crisis Nursery, they do not pack a bag or bring their personal belongings. This is why your donation of pajama's are so important to the Children's Cottage. These items are much needed and provide them with the things; they would expect to have at home.
Staying in a new place can sometimes be scary for these young ones, but because of your donation you have helped make their stay a little more comfortable, keeping them warm in their bed and helping them sleep tight at night!
Once again, thank you for your help and believing in our mission, safe children in healthy families. Through your generosity, you have made a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children in our community.
